Of course I'd sacrifice MemoQ, the 12 am crash is the worst for night owls as myself. And the worst is that it doesn't even happen to everyone, so what should I think? Did MemoQ just wanted me to hate it? Well, mission accomplished, CAT!

My heavy-drinking (ex)friends in County Antrim once explained that the trick is to drink a lot of the stuff until you have to go outside and vomit. By emptying your stomach you can then drink some more. They were serious drinkers. BTW I abhor the recently adopted habit of drinking Guinness cold. That's just horrible. Another BTW did you know that Guinness manufactured in Nigeria tastes better, and is much stronger, than the stuff you get elsewhere? There's still a brewery in Nigeria that was set up there in colonial times and is still using the original recipe. I've had a bottle or two. A Nigerian friend told me about it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinness_Nigeria

I don't know why non-native English speakers still use the long-abandoned expression "have a nice day".

Tom in London wrote: I don't know why non-native English speakers still use the long-abandoned expression "have a nice day". Because it’s not long-abandoned, or even short-abandoned. How can wishing someone a nice day or evening be a bad thing? How can you possibly respond with anything other than “Thanks, and you”?

How can wishing someone a nice day or evening be a bad thing? How can you possibly respond with anything other than “Thanks, and you”? Tom: Do not worry, it will be the first and the last time I am going to wish you "have a nice day", and perhaps the last time I will be here. Chris: I am not sure if the "problem" is using the "long-abandoned expression" as Tom says. I must confess, my Portuguese mind (or ignorance) puzzled me. I asked my British and Irish colleagues and friends, and they didn't know this "response". They said it was a weird thing to say. So, I googled this expression "Thank you, but I have other plans", and I have found this explanation: "Thank you, but I have other plans." Perfectly polite, and yet it leaves no doubt that you are not in that person's social class." https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/57692/what-s-wrong-with-saying-have-a-nice-day I really don't know if this response meant to offend or not, or if I misunderstood and missed something. I give Tom, the benefit of doubt, and no hard feelings. Bye everyone! It was a pleasure to read all your posts and in particular these last ones
