Segment count and word count with NXT

Dear colleagues,

I am dealing with a big project delivered in form of transit nxt pack (ppf) and with a word count according to the TSP of approx. 2000 words...The pack itself contains aprox. 50 files.

I opened it and see lots and lots of segments, each of them featuring between 3/4 words.
The question is: How can I get sure that the 2000 word count is correct? My 6th sense tells me that 2000 words look differently?
