One important thing to know is that this course does not provide professional training in translation or interpreting. This is a research masters with full focus on translation and interpreting theory and research, oriented to train researches in several areas of the discipline.
Its modules cover the methodological aspects of doing research; audiovisual, legal, technical and literary translation, community and conference interpreting, and from the cognitive and psycholinguistic aspects of the transalation/interpreting process to the ideological and sociocultural issues involved in translation and interpreting in different settings. Of course, knowing about, say, conference interpreting will sure make you a better conference interpreter, but the course does not provide professional training in any of these areas.
The final paper consists on a minor dissertation of original research work, ideally but not mandatorily conducive to a PhD thesis.
Requires full-time dedication and extensive reading and writing, but no translation or interpreting work whatsoever. It is an excellent masters if you want to orient your carreer towards doing research and/or teaching translation/interpreting.
