It's been donkeys since I last had to bill an international client, at least a decade. Back then, I didn't really have any issues anyway as they were in the UK and it was pre-Brexshit (the gift that keeps on giving).

Whether or not it is a major challenge, the time difference is one of the challenges.

All my long-standing clients are located in Europe and they all pay by bank transfer as agreed. The only issues I have are with new clients who insist on paying by PayPal (I prefer Wise, Revolut or TransferMate).

Biggest challange is being payed on bank account and the transaction made in EURO-s. It seems less and less clients are willing to do it.

Never has the slightest challenge with 'international' clients. Due diligence is not for just fillig time ...

The only occasional troubles I had with getting paid were with 'local' clients.

No real problems Sep 23

I only accept payments in euros and US dollars. Payments in euros from clients within Europe are transferred to my checking account. Clients outside of Europe and any payments in dollars go into my PayPal account without the need for any conversion because I can accept both currencies in two separate currency departments within PayPal. The fees are still moderate and are usually included in my rate or invoiced separately.

I see it as a major drawback, and it lies in the hefty fees charged by both banks and major international payment platforms.

In addition, we all know how excellent the customer service offered by international payment platforms is (basically a do-it-yourself type of help).
