I may have missed one or two since 2007, but I'm a 'frequent flyer'... | | | | Lieven Malaise Belgium Local time: 14:44 Tag (2020 óta) francia - holland + ...
But I'm mostly interested in translation/MTPE/editing/AI (business) related questions. I can't be bothered about "what are you drinking right now?" kind of poll questions. | | | | Hester Eymers Hollandia Local time: 14:44 Tag (2005 óta) angol - holland + ... | Paradoxical option | Jun 27, 2025 |
Isn't the option "Never - but I always view the results" something of a paradox? If you choose this option, you contradict yourself, as you have now answered one poll.
It made me think of the philosopher Epimenides, a Cretan who made the immortal statement: "All Cretans are liars." If he spoke the truth, he was lying, and consequently what he says is untrue; but if he lied, that confirms his statement and what he says is true. Thus, he is trapped in a logical paradox.

In all fairness, I think you can view poll results without participating, clicking a link to this effect in the pane.

You can but that's not her point. She's saying if you actually click on "Never - ..." then that is a vote. And therefore "Never" isn't true, because you have just voted.
FWIW I'm "when I happen to visit", which is less and less often. I used to have a proz tab permanently open. Now I go several days at a time without bothering to come here. There seems to be one or 2 people making a valiant effort to keep Fre-Eng kudoz interesting, but apart from that, for my pair & my interests in the industry in general, there's very little here any more.

I've just voted "Only when they interest me" - and that, likewise, is "less and less often".
And before anyone asks me what I find 'interesting' in this present poll, to the extent that I've actually bothered to vote, let's just say that ... errr , I haven't got a clue! | | | | CasaPhil Spanyolország Local time: 14:44 ProZ.com-tag angol - francia + ... | Now I get it! | Jun 28, 2025 |

Thank you for the clarification. Her point was too clever and literate for me in a poll discussion. I likely understood the option as pictured by the poll designer!
