...I will certainly say that my PC is by far the most useful piece of equipment in my life.

... because without my laptop I could do nothing. But my most useful gadget by a long shot is my phone, which allows me to receive e-mail. It means I can respond quickly to e-mails, not miss out on work while I'm out of the office. And it tells me when I need to come home because there's work in my inbox. Basically, it gives me the freedom to leave the house. I don't know how I survived before I could answer e-mails while wheeling a trolley round the supermarket!... I work with my laptop because I visit my grandparents every few weeks and therefore need to take the with me. I don't talk much on the phone (mobile) with clients, Skype is much more useful for this and that's really all I got: a laptop and a mobile. Nothing funky or exceptional, but working nonetheless.

I can say both PC and Laptop, because they both are useful for me in equal degree. I think in this poll PC and Laptop should be merged under the name "computer"
It's flexible and safe (it's own battery), however for everyday work I use external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Actually when it comes to monitor - I use both my laptop's and another one what gives me advantage of having two screens. Smartphones are very useful but if I had to choose between computer and mobile the choice would be obvious, after all I am translator not a salesman. Cheers Stanislaw
The obvious answer is any kind of computer.... | Sep 16, 2009 |
however, all things considered, the brain is also a huge computer.... I will have to say... my brain
Love my BlackBerry... | Sep 16, 2009 |
...but as long as I can't install any CAT software on it, I'd say my most useful device is my PC.

But what is that device you are holding to your ear?
|
|
You can take it with you. Cell phones will not let you run CAT tools and they are not meant to type away on. To me, being able to work wherever you please (provided there is a connection available) beats everything else hands down.
my laptop for sure | Sep 16, 2009 |
and i just got a really nice new one! and all the stuff that goes with it, high speed connection, SKYPE, MSN, email etc...without which I'd be adrift. Phone isn't so important for my business...
If I cannot sleep, I cannot work...so definitely my bed
