Serious problem with Trados 2009 - URGENT HELP

Dear ProZians,

I've been working on a project for more than 10 days, and I finally completed it today and wanted to send it to the client. At first, I experienced some problems when trying to create a package in Trados 2009. And, due to some unknown reason, Trados saved several versions of the file. When I tried to open one of them, this message appeared:

At first, I experienced some problems when trying to create a package in Trados 2009. And, due to some unknown reason, Trados saved several versions of the file. When I tried to open one of them, this message appeared:

The file “…name of the file….idml.sdlxliff”, contained in the package is older than the file in your project. Do you want to overwrite it?

I clicked Yes by mistake, and it seems that I deleted translated segments for nearly 11 000 words!

I feel desperate, as I tried each and every possible solution, but without any success so far.

I was very surprised when I noticed that the TM wasn't updated also.

Could you please help me and let me know if there is some way to restore the already translated and proofread file without having to translate it again?

Translation should be in your TM Jun 13, 2012

Hi Milena,

You must have been confirming the translation as you worked, and so sending each TU to your TM. So you should only have to open the file again and pre-translate against the TM.

I'm more interested in how you managed to get these messages in the first place as I'm struggling to imagine what you may have done? So if you get stuck in recovering the work and you need a little more help let me know and perhaps we can do a quick webex?

Thank you for your help! That's exactly what I did. I pressed Ctrl+Enter following each translated segment. Somehow, Trados created several files with the same name and when I tried to open one of them this message appeared "The file “…name of the file….idml.sdlxliff”, contained in the package is older than the file in your project. As a matter of fact, it appeared many times when I tried to open the package and to continue translating and I always clicked on No. However, today I clicked on Yes by mistake, and everything disappeared. I checked the date of the TM and it doesn't seem to be updated, i.e. it doesn't contain my recent updated and transated segments.
