Sometimes I take weekends off, sometimes I don’t, it all depends on the amount of work I have and on the deadline. I live alone with my dog, I can do as I please and I find that Saturdays and Sundays provide me with lots of quality time and I can work without distractions. Anyway, I prefer taking days off when everyone else is "busy"... | | | Jan Truper Németország Local time: 18:30 Tag (2016 óta) angol - német
The name of a day or its position in the Gregorian calendar's week cycle have no bearing on my behaviour. Edited to add: The only real difference is that I can't go grocery shopping on Sundays here in Berlin (due to shop closing regulations that I regard as a violation of my liberties).

as I rarely work on Saturdays, though I am willing to make that sacrifice but I absolutely refuse to work on Sundays.

Mondays-Fridays: Get up in time, have breakfast, start working before 9 am. Break for lunch, then work until 5.30 or 6 or so. Saturdays and Sundays: Get up early, have breakfast, go outside for a run/row (not at the moment, sadly)/skeeler outing/walk, or get up ridiculously early if I am umpiring a regatta (again, sadly not at the moment). Occasionally skip exercise in favour of a lazy morning with coffee and newspaper on the patio. I do not work, or even read my emails... Since a lot of my literary projects seem to be quite massive anymore, I stretch my working hours over 7 days, instead of just 5. That way, I don't get burnt out.

In general, I usually get more actual work done on Saturdays and Sundays because I don't have to spend so much time checking and replying to emails, and I'm more focused on working on the projects due the following week.

That's false for me. I work seven days a week. But I know when to take a break or relax a little bit. | | | Mario Freitas Brazília Local time: 13:30 Tag (2014 óta) angol - portugál + ...
My days off are those when I don't have any job. It can be any day, and it will be just like a weekend for me. Saturdays and Sundays will be just like a Monday to me if I have jobs to do.

As far as my physiology is the same even at the weekend, my routine is the same too. It has little to nothing to do with laziness, religion, pandemic, and other hypes. Why, depending on the timezone, my Saturday is someone's Friday or Sunday, whereas my Sunday is one's Saturday or Monday, so what? That's ok. | | | Kay Denney Franciaország Local time: 18:30 francia - angol
I prefer to spread my work out and work just mornings for example instead of full work days. That way I have time for other activities during the week. But the weekends are nice in that clients very rarely contact me, so I never have to reorganise my whole schedule to fit in an emergency.

Like others have said, my work schedule isn't calendar-based. The main difference is that there are many more interruptions and distractions Monday through Friday. Weekends are quiet and I work more effectively and efficiently. | | | Tom in London Egyesült Királyság Local time: 17:30 Tag (2008 óta) olasz - angol
Well: it's Saturday and despite my determination not to turn on the computer and not do any work, I have spend the whole morning doing a translation. I'm going to have to be ruthless and turn off the computer for the rest of the day so that I can get some reading done. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: There is a marked difference in my routine on Saturdays and Sundays versus the rest of the week.
