accuracy? Dec 25, 2010

My answer is NO of course, but I have been thinking of merging my TMs about one specific topic e.g medicine. However, I am not really sure about how the accuracy will be. For now, difference is %10 between yes & no. Is it useful to use one TM.

... since you never know if one job turns out to have follow-ups, etc. It is simply to "messy" for my taste. And creating a new TM for every job just takes a second.

Best Regards

Yes and No :) Dec 25, 2010

I find it useful to create specific TM's for direct clients, but not for agencies.

Furthermore, I can extract TU's from the "Big Mama" (multilingual and multidirectional TM) according to diverse criteria and create a distinct TMX file from the extracted items.

Actually, I have two TMs - one for each translation direction. Why bother having many TMs if TM size has no negative impact on computer performance?

Yes Dec 25, 2010

I have quite a large "general" TM that I use for a number of clients, as I prefer having a large database of my previous solutions. Thanks to the attribute fields filled in I do not have to worry about using an inappropriate equivalent. For specific fields, clients and projects I use separate TMs, of course. Nevertheless, these can be merged to form a large one, again. Depends on the fields and types of texts, really. Good organisation is a must, of course.

No, never Dec 26, 2010

as most if not all of my TM´s are customer related and that would be breaching their terms and conditions!!
