Translation - Afrikaans SCAN ME To work With Scan Me, Christophe Sonck came up with a system with which you can gauge someone's personality through in-depth interviews. The data collected enables the designer to conceive the ideal seating furniture for that specific person. Since people are central to the structure of Scan Me, the consumer is always put first. The economic and technical considerations are secondary, which is in line with the human-centered trend in the design world. Since the furniture will only have one user, it is better to speak about a consumer as a client. This is thoroughly questioned about all sorts of aspects. The aim is to get a complete picture of the personality of the client and the associated preferences and wishes when designing his sofa. On the one hand, the knowledge developed from two previous PWO projects was used to draw up the partial aspects. For example, the Materials applied in design and interior project (2005-2009) provided insights into innovative materials and the Furniture guide project (2009-2013) provided insights into the questioning of style preferences, furniture characteristics and psychological orientation. In addition, seventeen scientific papers were analyzed via desk research. From this the most important and most common aspect that activate the bond between a client and a product is listed. In Scan Me, these are mainly the aspects of memory, pleasure and self-expression.
