Dear Parents,
A warm welcome to all new parents and children to our Institute, and of course welcome back to all old students. We are looking forward to another successful year.
This year we are focusing on a new slogan and motto for our institute. “Language Creates Opportunity” – our slogan shows that with every new language there is a new window of opportunity and direction. Our new logo is a colourful tree consisting of hands representing the flags of the languages that we offer. We are encouraging all our students to seize the opportunity! “One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way” – Frank Smith.
Our English classes begin on 17th September and all the other language classes begin on 2nd October. If there is anything you need to discuss with me, I am available as Institute Co-ordinator on Mondays and Thursdays between 2.00p.m. and 4.00p.m.
Kindly complete the ‘Update of Information’ slip overleaf and return it to your child’s teacher. This will enable us to update our records. Please be aware that occasionally you may receive information via electronic format. Attached you will also find a copy of our Institute Timetable.

Добро пожаловать всем новым и бывшим родителям и учащимся в наше факультативное заведение. Мы с нетерпением ждем такого же успешного года.
В этом году мы сосредотачиваемся на новом слогане и девизе нашего заведения - “Язык создает возможность” – наш слоган предполагает, что с каждым новым языком возникают новые возможности и направления. Наша новая эмблема - красочное дерево, состоящее из рук, представляющих флаги языков, которые мы предлагаем для изучения. Мы поощряем всех наших учащихся воспользоваться этой возможностью! “Один язык помещает вас в коридор жизни. Два языка открывают каждую дверь по пути” – Франк Смит.
Курсы английского языка начинаются 17-ого сентября, а курсы других языков начинаются 2-ого октября. По любым вопросам обращайтесь ко мне по понедельникам и четвергам от 14:00 до 16:00.

The ………School ……..
Two riveting performances of the ancient Greek tragedy “Antigone” by Sophocles fascinated pupils, parents, staff and visitors at the International School of …… in late March. The play was presented in contemporary English and combined classical elements such as choric speaking, masks and period costumes with modern dance and pop music-style songs.
On both nights, the players received enthusiastic applause and lavish praise. One member of the audience called the production “absolutely spellbinding”, while another remarked: “I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The passion and commitment of the pupils were tangible.”
This feat was achieved by a multinational cast of around thirty students from Years 7 to 13 (ages 11 to 18) under the guidance of the private school’s drama teacher, Mrs. …….
Dr. ……., Headmistress of the ………. School of ……., commented: “We are proud and happy to have such talent and creativity among our students and staff. The whole production reflected our school’s philosophy of combining our heritage with that of many other countries and innovative methods to achieve excellent results.”
Entrance to the two performances was free, but €700 was raised for charity through donations.
Translation - Greek Η θεατρική παράσταση «Αντιγόνη» ενθουσίασε τους θεατές στο ………………
Τέλη Μαρτίου στο ………… δόθηκαν δύο παραστάσεις της αρχαίας τραγωδίας «Αντιγόνη» του Σοφοκλή, η οποία καθήλωσε και γοήτευσε τους μαθητές, τους γονείς, το προσωπικό του σχολείου και το υπόλοιπο κοινό. Η παράσταση ήταν στα σύγχρονα Αγγλικά σε συνδυασμό με κλασσικά στοιχεία, όπως απαγγελία Χορού, μάσκες, ενδυμασία εποχής, μοντέρνος χορός και τραγούδια ποπ μουσικής.
Και τις δύο βραδιές η θεατρική ομάδα καταχειροκροτήθηκε και έλαβε πολλούς επαίνους. Ένας από τους θεατές χαρακτήρισε την παραγωγή ως «απόλυτα μαγευτική», ενώ κάποιος άλλος παρατήρησε: «καθόμουν με αγωνία από την αρχή ως το τέλος της παράστασης. Το πάθος των μαθητών ήταν πολύ αισθητό.»
Αυτό το θαυμάσιο αποτέλεσμα κατορθώθηκε με την ερμηνεία μιας πολυεθνικής ομάδας μαθητών Γυμνασίου και Λυκείου και με την καθοδήγηση της καθηγήτριας θεάτρου, της κας. …………..
Η διευθύντρια του σχολείου, κυρία……….., σχολίασε: « Είμαστε πολύ περήφανοι να έχουμε τέτοια μεγάλα ταλέντα και τέτοια δημιουργικότητα στους μαθητές και στο προσωπικό μας. Όλη η παράσταση έδωσε μια εικόνα της φιλοσοφίας του σχολείου μας που συνδυάζει τις καινοτομίες μαζί με τη δική μας κληρονομιά αλλά και άλλων χωρών για να επιτευχθεί τέτοιο άριστο αποτέλεσμα.»
Η είσοδος και στις δυο παραστάσεις ήταν ελεύθερη. Έγιναν όμως δωρεές και συγκεντρώθηκαν 700 € για φιλανθρωπικούς σκοπούς.
