If I understand correctly, a plan for laying out on the ground the points building work is to start (for the foundations, etc.)

: Of course there are instances where not having heard of a word doesn't mean it's not legitimate. I allowed for that in my request that you provide justification. I learn a lot of new words this way on ProZ.

This drawing shows a plan view of all spread footings, piling or drilled shafts and provides all information necessary for locating their positions in the field.
I think the little flags they put up before pouring the foundation, that mark its bounds, are called foundation markers.
