I ve a doubt in translating the word 'butée' in the below sentence....
'Le manchon doit garantir la butée de fin de course par rapport à la face pignon'
Can this mean 'stop', just a guess!

Yes, it can mean it here!

The biggest problem is that we probbaly wouldn't usually say 'guarantee' in EN; you may need to rephrase, perhaps using 'esnure' or something like that.
