Spanish term

Cantidad recibida de menos

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping Logistics
SPAIN. I know that "Cantidad recibida de mas" means "excess quantity", but can't think of the best/most succinct way to express the opposite (Cantidad recibida de menos). The terms appear in software strings which seem to be part of an order/export/shipping form or agreement. All suggestions welcome.

"Cantidad recibida de mas y aceptada / Cantidad recibida de menos"

neilmac (asker) Oct 9, 2021:
Agree "Default" wouldn't work in this case. I'm using "short quantity received" for the moment.
philgoddard Oct 8, 2021:
Default is ambiguous, because it can mean standard.
Toni Castano Oct 8, 2021:
Hi Neil Have you thought of perhaps "default quantity"? It´s a typical SAP item, don´t know if applicable to your strings.

(Number of) Missing Items

Yes, I do a lot of Online shopping, especially since Covid!
A common message from Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s, etc, etc is “the following items are missing from your order…”
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : This wouldn't work with bulk goods - for example if a delivery was fifty kilos short.

True, this only works for countable items. Perhaps "shortfall" would work more generally...
