Como ya tengo "difamatorio" y "calumnioso" para "defamatory" y "slanderous," no sé que poner para "libelous". (Lo de "hateful" pienso dejarlo para el final de la lista como " que promueva el odio.")

The slander vs. libel categories are basically the same in the USA as they are in other ENG Common law countries, libel being a more permanet form such as a tape or video recording, incluing 'revenge porn' - whichever way the law in the USA and UK is going to develop on that score.
Otherwise, there is a category of slander of title > 'jactancia' known as injurious or malicious falsehood, such as pointed advertising or pickets posted outisde a restaurant where there has been a dispute with staff.
The slander vs. libel distinction isn't very sharp in non-English Common Law countries and often needs to be paraphrased.
PS this is the first time I have seen the libelous US-Am. spelling with one 'l'.

Esta es otra opción que se me ocurre en tu contexto particular, ya que "slander" es difamación por vía oral o gestual y "libel" es difamación escrita.
Como es español no existe esta diferenciación exacta de "difamación", me parece que de esta manera se soluciona el problema y establece diferencia.
O "difamatorio, ya sea por vía oral u escrita".

Perdón, cuando digo que no existe diferencia en español, me refiero a que no existe un equivalente exacto para "libel" y "slander", y que necesitamos una traducción más explicativa para dar a entender la diferencia.
Como es español no existe esta diferenciación exacta de "difamación", me parece que de esta manera se soluciona el problema y establece diferencia.
O "difamatorio, ya sea por vía oral u escrita".
