Relating to biopsy sample taking. The rapid process in which the central part of the needle enters the lesion and then the cannula also enters to cut the sample into the notch:

"El mecanismo de acción se basa en el avance rápido y secuencial del eje interno que atraviesa la lesión y, en un segundo tiempo, del externo que corta un fragmento de tejido que queda en el interior de la cámara. Esta combinación de movimientos rápidos y secuenciales se denomina ***disparo***"

Shot No que sea tan importante pero "mecanismo de acción" alude aqui al "firing mechanism" mientras que la combinación de movimientos (el disparo) sería un "shot".
