With recent changes in the language services industry, many freelancers are pivoting in one way or another. Some are re-inventing themselves within the industry, and some are pivoting right out of the industry as well. The purpose of this event is to give you ideas and tools to reinvent yourself as a freelancer, whether you are staying in and around language services, or thinking of heading for completely new pastures.
Through real stories from the front lines, we discover a changing landscape where humans are increasingly trusted with only the most sensitive, high-stakes communication. Some are choosing to leave. Others are embracing technology and learning to collaborate with it. But beyond survival lies a third path—one that transforms how we define expertise, value, and even career itself.
More than a discussion about translation or AI, Walk Away, Dance or Fly is a reflection on reinvention. It invites viewers to rethink work, identity, and possibility in a rapidly changing world, and to consider not just how to keep up with the future, but how to dream and imagine again.
