Bio

English to Dutch translator with a focus on medicinal cannabis, history/Classics and the rail industry. MITI (Qualified Member) of the ITI (Institute of Translation & Interpreting) and member of the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses).

I caught the translation bug when I started my degree in Latin and Ancient Greek in 2002. During my course, I perfected my translation skills, and then moved on to a further degree in English translation.

In 2012/2013 I completed an internship with Tekom Translators in the Netherlands, where I learned about translation in a business environment and picked up my second specialisation: medicinal cannabis.

Since 2011 I have worked as a professional freelance translator under the name Letters in Dutch, completing many projects, ranging from very small (10-20 words) to very large (100.000+ words). Many of these were in cannabis (especially growing methods and medicinal and recreational use) and the rail industry (especially operating the railway and engaging the public). I also covered many other different topics, like corporate training documents, software manuals, blog posts and tourism texts.

Please have a look at my website or contact me if you would like to find out more.
