The base of snub-nosed Explanation: It is so, if understood directly without any sub-text! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 28 mins (2023-02-24 15:10:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think, it may also be translated as the "home of snub-nosed". |

pug-nosed camp Explanation: Pug-nosed at least add some kind irony when we speak of kids, and Base here has the same meaning as Camp - tourist base, children sports and recreational base (туристическая база, детская спортивно-оздоровительная база etc) would be a verbatum translation but is does not make much sense in English and is nearly out of usage in post-Soviet times. Sounds like they are recalling time spend there with friends, their activities, often of a patriotic nature etc. Usually children would go there for at least 1 summer month and bond and play together. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 46 mins (2023-02-24 15:28:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- of irony )) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 47 mins (2023-02-24 15:29:12 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- oh no, no correction needed :-) |
