Tamil term or phrase: அசந்தோட
Greetings,

In “The Fox and His Creditor” from Pope's Tamil Prose Reading Book (p. 15), there is a phrase describing the sheer wretchedness of the fox trying to escape from the god who wants the money the fox has promised him:
கால் அசந்தோடச் சத்துவந்தப்பி

Please, what is அசந்தோட? What smaller words is it made up of?

I should imagine that the god isn't really interested in the money but is trying to teach the fox a lesson.

Best wishes and many thanks,

Simon
