As for "acknowledgment", it implies that a piece of information has been put forth for the sake of being confirmed, and that the party seeking confirmation is already in possession of the information in question. However, "admission" clearly shows that the verification and origin of the information in question is from the "admitting" party and not any other party. |

Thus; the use of "confession" here, in my view, is absolutely not acceptable.
