मैं ललित जी के बात से बिलकुल सहमत हूँ. Game App के संदर्भ में एकल शब्द सही नहीं प्रतीत हो रहा है. व्यक्तिगत शब्द ही सही जान पड़ता है. Paru जी आपने जो लिंक दिया है और वहाँ पर जो विवरण दिया हुआ है वो टेनिस या बैडमिंटन जैसे खेलों के लिए तो ठीक है लेकिन जब आप मोबाइल या लैपटॉप पर कोई गेम खेलते हैं तो फिर एकल या युगल का क्या सवाल? ये ठीक है कि मोबाइल या लैपटॉप पर भी कुछ गेम्स में युगल या एकल रूप से खेलने की सुविधा होती है. लेकिन वहाँ पर दोनों प्लेयर्स अपनी अपनी मर्ज़ी से नहीं खेलते बल्कि गेम आप खेलते हैं युगल रूप में. तो इस तरह से भले आप दो प्लेयर्स के साथ खेलें वो गेम व्यक्तिगत रूप से आप ही खेल रहे होते हैं. इस लिए मुझे लगता है कि यहाँ पर एकल का अनुवाद सही नहीं होगा बल्कि व्यक्तिगत ज़्यादा सटीक है.

'एकल खेल' अर्थात् अकेले खिलाड़ी का खेल। यदि आप बैडमिंटन या टेनिस खेल रहे हैं तो आपका विरोधी भी अकेला है; यदि आप सॉलिटेयर या पिनबॉल खेल रहे हैं तो आपका कोई विरोधी नहीं है (या विरोधी ताश के पत्ते / पिनबॉल मशीन है)। इसमें यदि एकल के अर्थ का विस्तार हो रहा है तो क्या हर्ज है?

मुझे लगता है कि संदर्भ यहाँ पर आभासी जगत के गेम का है। संदर्भ game app का है। बैडमिंटन या टेनिस का नहीं। उदाहरण के लिए पोकर को लें। आप व्यक्तिगत सेटिंग्स के साथ खेलते हैं, यह आपका व्यक्तिगत गेम है। यदि बैडमिंटन भी खेल रहे हैं तो singles या doubles की बात चलेगी तभी एकल या युगल आएगा। individual game की चर्चा होगी तो individual का मतलब यहाँ भी व्यक्तिगत ही होगा, एकल शब्द कैसे आ जाएगा?

individual अर्थात व्यक्तिगत का मतलब है of or relating to an individual

एकल गेम

Since this is related to an App, we have retained the word गेम for 'game' keeping in mind the terminology used by Microsoft, and for 'individual' we have used एकल because the phrase refers to that game/play which is played by a player as a single player from his/her side. When a player plays in doubles or as a member of a team then it is not 'individual' game. As for व्यक्तिगत it sounds like 'personal', so I don't think this should be used in this context.

This is a list of the top 25 individual game scores attained by a player in the National Basketball Association.
