The goal of the session is to aid translators in finding the right technical terminology for the particular translation project:
how to approach a new project
how to position yourself within the context of the domain
how to select the right word from a host of possibilities.
Where you can get information and how to avoid making mistakes. Examples will be given in the areas of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and aeronautics.
James Brian Mitchell est l’auteur de plus de 120 articles scientifiques et co-auteur d’un manuel de physique expérimentale. Il détient des brevets dans l’industrie automobile et pétrolière. Professeur de Physique au Canada, puis en France, il a été invité à donner plus 80 présentations dans des congrès et universités en Amérique du Nord, en Europe et au Moyen Orient. Il traduit des brevets, rapports de brevets, manuels et notices techniques, thèses de doctorat scientifiques.

James Brian Mitchell is the author of over 120 scientific papers and co-author of a textbook on experimental physics. He holds patents in the automotive and oil industries. Professor of Physics in Canada and in France, he was invited to give more than 80 presentations at conferences and universities in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He translates patents, patent reports, technical manuals, and scientific doctoral theses.
