Egy helyenként jogi jellegű szöveget fordítok (nem az egész jogi, mert akkor nem vállaltam volna el :)), és nem akarok angol tükörfordítást berhelni arra a kifejezésre, hogy "jogág", mert biztos van neki hivatalos megfelelője. Rágugliztam, megnéztem netes szótárakban, no cigar. Jogi szótáram nincs otthon, és szorít a határidő. Ha tudjátok, légyszi írjátok meg!

branch of law
The term "branches of law" definitely exisits in English. For instance, constitional law, criminal law, civil law - these are all considered "branches of law". Other terms I've heard used are "fields of law" and perhaps "domains of law". But fields is a little more specific, like "family law is a field within the civil branch", or something like that.
