English term

Hatch

English to Russian Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime
Hi
I am translating a poster with life safety tips for seafarers working on a wharf. It comprises several pictures with a short text under each of them.
The term I am struggling with is "a hatch" in the following phrases:

1. Never work at height or near an open hatch without proper safety equipment.
2. Never enter any fully open hatch without being authorised.

Possible versions are: "шлюз", "шлюзовая камера" or just "люк". Will it the latter appropriate for a cargo ship?

The images similar to my poster are here:

крышка люка

In your context will be "...не работайте вблизи открытой крышки люка..."
Later, if it is just "hatch", then - "люк". If "open hatch" - "крышка люка".

Also will do for cargo ships. See e.g. below.
Example sentence:

При одновременной работе кранов на одном люке операции должны производиться так, чтобы исключалась возможность столкновения грузов, стре

Peer comment(s):

agree Andrew Vdovin : Просто "люк". Крышка люка - hatch door.

agree Alexandra Schneeuhr : With Andrew. Люк would be sufficient here.
