afsluitbare bekers
Niet helemaal zeker hoe je dit lekker in het Nederlands zegt, maar tubs zijn die grote bekers waar o.a. ook popcorn in geserveerd wordt (of ook ice cream tubs), en impulse verwijst naar gemakkelijk, handig, instant, geschikt voor impulsaankopen, en waarschijnlijk ook afsluitbaar.
"It forces you to walk past all of the sale bins and impulse racks. (...). I have seen cotton candy sold in plastic bags. This came in a big plastic tub. The benefit being that that tub is reusable. In fact, the bottom of the tub is stamped "REUSABLE - MICROWAVE AND DISHWASHER SAFE."

En ik zie dat TinaVdW dit eigenlijk ook al omschreef in de discussie. Sorry. Ik zou afsluitbare beker voor impulsaankopen gebruiken. Luchtdicht zie ik niet zo.

Discussion
Na enig onderzoek betekent ‘impulse’ volgens mij niet ‘luchtdicht’, maar betekent het ‘voor directe, buitenhuishoudelijke consumptie’, cfr.impulsaankopen. In marketingteksten vond ik het terug in de term ‘impulsijs’. (http://www.prodzuivel.nl/index.asp?frame=http://www.prodzuiv...
De emmertjes suikerspin die ik terugvond waren inderdaad luchtdicht, maar dat heeft echter niets met ‘impuls’ te maken.
Je zou het ‘luchtdichte’ aspect er natuurlijk wel in kunnen verwerken.

Zoeken op "impulse tubs" levert allerlei jacuzzi/hot tub-resultaten op, wat hier niks mee te maken heeft. Kant-en-klare suikerspin wordt wel in "tubs" (wat zoals gezegd te vertalen is met beker/emmer, afhankelijk van de grootte) verkocht wordt.
