Isn't it possible that the transaction fee which the client should bear is being deducted from the payment you should receive?

I once used Paypal for receiving payment of 2300 USD and guess what, the handling charge deducted by Paypal was 200 USD. If I had used a bank transfer, the handling charge would have been 1/20. So getting 260 Euros deducted for handling charges may be very expensive, but not that off, in my opinion.

PayPal also depends on the country you are in. It also took fees off my payments, and when I contacted the client, they said they charged them too. I didn’t believe it, so they sent me a screenshot. PayPal charged both sending and reception fee on the same payment transaction. It may be more favorable if you are in a different country, eg. the U.S.

The thing here is that I have also paid my own PayPal fees, about €150, which would then mean that you think that I have to pay my €150 own fees plus their €260 ones - the PayPal agent told me that these fees were from the client's bank not from them as stated in my original post - meaning €410 for about €1 600, so 25%? That sounds unreasonable for me here

In your original post, you wrote that the missing 260 Euros were fees which your client had to pay to make the transfer. Why don't you ask your client to show you a copy that it really cost 260 Euros to make the transfer?
