It is not possible to modify the text
outside an open segment if the "Protect document"
setting is active.
Go to Tools -> Options ->

Try entering the text for your segment
then use Format Paint (F9). Highlight the part
affected by the tags in the source segment by

Don't expect such a toolbar in
PowerPoint.
Start Trados TagEditor and open the
ppt file. From then on, you can translate the ttx
