If you see foreign matter in the reservoir tank, have the reservoir tank inspected and cleaned by your nearest authorized *** distributor or dealer. If the fluid level is lower than the “MIN” line, remove cover , clean the surfaces around cap of reservoir tank, open cap , and add the recommended brake fluid up to the “MAX” line.
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by an authorized *** dealer. Improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead to personal injury caused by unintentional activation of the system. Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
Before working, turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect electrical connector of ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) or the battery negative terminal. Clean inside of reservoir tank, and refill with new brake fluid. Loosen bleed valve, depress brake pedal slowly to full stroke and then release it. Repeat the procedure every 2 or 3 seconds until the new brake fluid comes out, then close the bleed valve while depressing the pedal. Repeat the same work for each wheel.
