Job closing notification after a cutoff period

Oftentimes, jobs are closed after the poster has evaluated all bids and assigned the job.

But sometimes, job posters fail to close jobs even after the original deadline is well past!

Should there be some trigger or cutoff time after which the poster is notified that the job should be closed after successful selection of a bid, similar to closing out a KudoZ question after grading?

It would help bidders schedule their bids appropriately, one would think. It ... See more

It would help bidders schedule their bids appropriately, one would think. It would also prevent wasted bids where bidders bid on a job already assigned but not updated in the system as being closed.

Have a look at the New Jobs pages; specifically, at the new Job Posting Form, which features two deadlines: (1) the delivery deadline and (2) the quoting deadline.

Have a look at the New Jobs pages; specifically, at the new Job Posting Form, which features two deadlines: (1) the delivery deadline and (2) the quoting deadline.

Although posted jobs will not be closed automatically after expiry of the quoting deadline with this release of the new Jobs system, it will be much clearer to providers whether or not a job is still "live".

The site should switch to New Jobs shortly.
