Hi there. I am reviewing an English translation of an Italian document, and have found some untranslated abbreviations therein (one previously posted as a Kudoz question).
This is from an Italian patent, and reads in full (in the English translation):
"Ddp: October 20, 1957; Des: September 15, 1958"
I have been told in a previous KudoZ question that "Ddp" means "Publication date.
In addition, I cannot tell in the document whether the abbreviation is "Des" or "Dcs".

The abbreviation is dcs and stands for "data di concessione" - date of grant, or grant date.
I found a good explanation in this US patent manual:
13. Italy. Separately printed copies of the specifications of Italian patents have been received since 1925. The date the application was filed is given in the heading opposite the words "data di deposito" and the date the patent was granted is given opposite the words "data di concessione". Prior to No. 500,001, granted in 1954, different words or abbreviations were used in referring to filing (Dpd., Domandato) and to
the granting (Dcs., Rilasciato, Concesso). (p. 16 of 39)

The reference tittle should read: "I guess it's Des, not Dcs"
This is some patent for an invention that I've found, I don't know what it stands for, but at least you don't have to look for Dcs anymore.

This is some patent for an invention that I've found, I don't know what it stands for, but at least you don't have to look for Dcs anymore.
