thrombocytopenia sec to chronic alcoholic liver disease (D69.6 - Thrombocytopenia,
unspecified, HCC:48, K70.9 - Alcoholic liver disease, unspecified, HCC:28) [Med Pblm] IDT PlT
Ct: 177 WNL (3/6/2023). ATM. 1/22/2023 : PT count N as per CBC on 11/3/22. No reported bleeding
This text is a medical record, filled with abbreviations... I asked the client about this and they say they don't know :(. Any ideas? I've been researching a lot but nothing makes complete sense...
If nothing fits, should I just leave it as it is, maybe with a note? I've been translating for more than 20 years and never came up with a situation when the clien't can't provide an explanation...
Thanks!

Thrombocytopenia can be secondary to chronic or acute liver diseases.
https://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.nefro.2015.03.003: In a case report, a diagnosis of acute thrombotic microangiopathy (ATM) was made in a patient with subcapsular liver hematoma, which was thought to be a consequence of hepatic blood flow obstruction due to fibrin deposits within hepatic sinusoids, resulting in periportal necrosis and intrahepatic hemorrhage. Likewise, the authors believed that vascular rupture might result from hepatic blood flow obstruction secondary to complement-induced microvascular thrombosis.

To overcome the rising burdens of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, mechanistic linkages in mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation and hepatic injury are critical. As ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) gene oversees DNA integrity and mitochondrial homeostasis, we analyzed mRNAs and total proteins or phosphoproteins by arrays in subjects with healthy liver, fatty liver or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. wiki:
ATM serine/threonine kinase or Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated, symbol ATM, is a serine/threonine protein kinase that is recruited and activated by DNA double-strand breaks. It phosphorylates several key proteins that initiate activation of the DNA damage checkpoint, leading to cell cycle arrest, DNA repair or apoptosis. Several of these targets, including p53, CHK2, BRCA1, NBS1 and H2AX are tumor suppressors.
