(let it> the defenc/se) be accepted for filing
The tense is subjunctive, and not indicative.
So, from the sparse context, it must be an application a.k.a. motion to the judge for the contestación del demandado (defenc/se or reply) to be added to the record.
Tom West III' ES>AmE glossary> entertain a claim; admitir a trámite > give leave to proceed of a claim - but this is clearly not one if submitted by the demandado.

It is not for the demandado as the defendant to stipulate a 'fait accompli' as a reply or defence already admitted or acknowledged.

Example sentence:
The court office will accept your defence for filing as long as the plaintiff has not filed a request to note you in default.

: Admit evidence, yes. Admit an answer, no. One can admit a specific allegation w/in an answer, but the answer itself is accepted for filing, or not, by the court.

Thanks. Indeed, it is evidence that is admitted and claims that are entertained.

Without more context!
e.g. evidence is admitted
(A) a defendant may offer evidence of the defendant’s pertinent trait, and if the evidence is admitted, the prosecutor may offer evidence to rebut it;

: Hi Eugenia! How about leaving "admitted/acknowledged" alone, without "is"? It sounds correct to me. Hope being of help!

If this is the defendant answering the judge, he may be acknowledging or accepting a pleading.

IF you go with admitted, you'd have to use the subjunctive. HOWEVER, we still do not have context (we do not even know what is being admitted), so hard to tell ....
