: I agree, "large" is good. "Large sections of society" sounds better to me than "groups". PS. Colombian, not Columbian :)

Thanks, Charles - I wasn´t totally sold on 'groups' either and was thinking of 'swathes' and other synonyms but 'sections' is just right I think.
