Not really, as long as my laptop holds out and I can keep working even while back home for a seasonal visit. October and November were comparatively quiet for me, so I'm glad that I've now got a couple of translation jobs to keep me ticking over into the New Year.

I work mostly for the EU Institutions and they will be closed from the 17th December until the 6th January. So, it will be stress-free unless one of my other clients has an emergency…

Work normally peters out or someone wants a big project translated but the deadline is generous. This year I'm taking a full ten days' holiday to travel.

I've had work, but I've been able to pace it so that I won't feel rushed. I asked for a loose deadline on a large job that will be due after Christmas.

I have once or twice been pressed to take on extra work, and have squeezed in a whole month's work in December before the 23rd, plus occasionally a day or two after Christmas, but I finally decided there is more to life than work. Once I am booked, but not over-booked, I simply tell clients they can wait til the New Year.

Same thing. The volume of work does not seem to vary a lot. It's usually bad in January, though.
