More than 60 days for some Dec 5, 2018

As long as some of my clients pay promptly, I can afford to be flexible with the ones who for one reason or another find it more difficult. For example, last week one long-standing direct (non-agency) client paid me 50% of a bill that I presented to them in September. It's a small company, and obviously if they had the cash available to pay me the whole amount, they would have done so, so I'm not going to make matters worse by pestering them. I know they will stump up when they can., I only really collaborate with one agency nowadays, and they usually pay within thirty days.

The way I see it, my bills are a request for payment; I can't just wade in there dictating my terms and having a tantrum when delinquent clients fail to comply for whatever reason.

I replied "other" because it is not really a question of what I "allow". My invoices say "30 days", and virtually all my customers pay on or very shortly after the due date. A couple of lovely agencies frequently pay before the time is up, and one or two rogues have had to be reminded and reminded and reminded.

My payment terms are 30 days, some very dear long-standing customers (4) pay the day after receiving my invoice, one client pays at 45 days but he always needs to be reminded, another one pays at 60 days like clockwork though…

As long as it takes, but my terms are 30 days Dec 5, 2018

My terms are 30 days, and I allow a week after that before sending a polite reminder. I have very rarely needed to go further than that.

30 ends up being 60 Dec 5, 2018

My standard maximum term is 30 days. It's actually the standard term for 90% of my clients. However, some clients ask for a single invoice per month. So, the jobs completed in the first week of the month will be paid in 50-60 days, the jobs delivered in the second week will be paid in 40-50 days, and so forth. So, I must consider the average term for that supposedly 30-day term is actually 45 days.

Upfront Partial Payment, The Rest Due Upon Delivery Of Manuscript Dec 5, 2018

Since I'm primarily a literary translator.

Otherwise, on the rare occasions that I work for agencies, i.e., the only ones that I will work for, they usually pay me within a week's time, which is one of the reasons I like to accommodate them, in particular.

Most of my clients have preestablished payment schedules. I rarely have a say in the matter.
