I'm happy with my areas of expertise, as I have worked 20 years in-house in the professions, and as a translator as well. After all these years, my areas of expertise include things like "no student papers", "no Chinese or Indian clients", "no clients with less than 4.6 points in the Blue Board", "no jobs in areas I consider boring", "no jobs in areas I don't specialize in", and several other "nos" in addition to the actual areas of expertise, which I would not suppress either. ... Sometimes I think I should have gone into legal translation, for the money. But my soul would have shrivelled up doing that.
