No set time for me. It depends on a lot of things: Am I tired? Did I sleep well last night? At what time did I have my dinner? Am I in the mood for one of my favorite TV shows? The list could go on and on, but let’s say that my usual is between 10.30 pm and 1:00 am. | | | Debora d'Amato (X) Italy Local time: 02:47 English to Italian + ... As already said above, it depends on different things, but especially on how tired I am and what I have to do the following day: study, work, class? | | | neilmac Spain Local time: 02:47 Spanish to English + ...
Depends on where I am, among other things. I'm currently in Scotland and usually go to bed earlier here than I would when home in Spain, where I might stay up as late as 2 or 3 AM. | |

well I go to bed at about 9.30 pm, but I spend some time reading, it might be 2 hours, 1 hour, it just depends on how tired I am. | | | Mario Freitas Brazil Local time: 22:47 Member (2014) English to Portuguese + ...
I always try to keep standard sleeping hours from 1:00 am to 9:00 am, but it's not always possible. I regularly find myself going to bed at 4:00 or 5:00 am, and sometimes I can't keep myself awake as early as 9:00 or 10:00 pm. I know this is not a healthy standard (or lack of), but no matter how much I try to get some discipline into my life, it never works. I have clients all over the world, as I belive most of us do, and I receive e-mails with job proposals at 4:00 am as freq... So, I guess it will always be a variable and never a constant.

I made this poll because I was curious if there was a higher percentage of night owls in the translator/freelance population. It looks like there is some correlation to that based on the results to this point. Personally I am always a late-night person but the actual time I get in bed varies, the most likely time could be anywhere from 2:30 am to 5:30 am, or later in some cases. It's generally good for me to be in bed before the sun starts coming up... I find it harder to fall aslee... It's generally good for me to be in bed before the sun starts coming up... I find it harder to fall asleep after that starts happening. Attempting to fall asleep before about 1 am just isn't happening and I think back before I went freelance when I worked a fixed daytime schedule I was just losing a lot of sleep. ▲ Collapse | | | Trying to keep the routine | Aug 14, 2018 |
I get up at 6am every week day (beneficial when working with people overseas), so I try to go to bed at 10pm the latest. If I'm running late, I try not to go over 12am. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: What time do you usually get to bed?
