I am from Trinidad and Tobago where I completed a languages double major degree in Spanish and French. I then went on to do an Mphil programme in hispanic studies, focusing on contemporary Colombian narrative and the figure of the prostitute. I also hold a Master's degree in Humanities from the Carlos III de Madrid university, Spain and in 2012, I finished my PhD in Comparative Literature at the same university with a focus on Migration and Cultural/Image Studies.
I translate from Spanish to English and have done many jobs over the years, from university portals to theatre reviews and even a novel which I am working on at present. I hope to acquire more training in translation since I believe one must always combine practice with theory. |
