Source text - English We observed remarkable variability of benzene exposures during automobile refueling, with 95% of the concentrations covering a 274-fold range (Table 5). Faced with such great variability in air levels, large numbers of observations are required to adequately characterize exposures. To obtain sufficient data for this purpose, it is necessary to apply methods that allow more measurements to be made at a given cost (59,60). Our approach to increasing sample size was to use passive monitors suitable for use by the subjects themselves and to package the devices in simple test kits that can be transported via the mail.

W obliczu tak dużej zmienności poziomów w powietrzu, konieczne jest przeprowadzenie wielokrotnych obserwacji celem adekwatnego opisu ekspozycji. Aby otrzymać wystarczającą liczbę danych dla tego celu należy zastosować metody, które pozwolą na przeprowadzenie większej liczby pomiarów przy podanych kosztach (59,60). Naszym podejściem do zwiększania rozmiaru próbki było zastosowanie biernych przyrządów kontrolnych odpowiednich do użycia przez same podmioty oraz zestawienie urządzeń w proste zestawy testujące, które można przesłać pocztą.
I was born in Poland and spent a considerable part of my life there. In my final year of high school I went to the United States where I graduated from ZCHS in Indiana. This was a time for me of discovering Anglo American culture and improving my English language skills. When I returned to Poland I studied biotechnology at Gdańsk University of Technology.
