For more than 19 years, I’ve been a Japanese to English translator and Japanese interpreter based in New York City. I am ATA-certified for Japanese to English translation.

As a translator, I’ve worked on contracts and other legal documents, marketing materials, newsletters, news articles, advertising copy, surveys, and academic papers. I've also worked on transcreation and language consulting projects.

As a consecutive and simultaneous interpreter, my assignments have included focus groups, trainings, conferences, presentations, business discussions, marketing and product development meetings, negotiations including M&A, client-attorney meetings, and photo shoots. 

I consider myself bilingual and bicultural, having grown up speaking both languages. During my childhood, I attended “regular” American school during the week and Japanese school on Saturdays. After graduating from law school in the U.S., I lived in Tokyo for four years.

Some of my past jobs include manager in a cosmetics company, member of a nonperforming loan team in a Japanese accounting firm, attorney at a Japanese law firm, in-house translator at a manual company, photographer’s assistant, and research assistant at a fashion magazine.

Using this experience and more, I help Japanese and American clients communicate and collaborate. Clients say I’m responsive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and easy to work with.
