Bio

I, Saren, was born on the 6th of June 1971. I hold a Master Degree in Education Management from Build Bright University in 2016. I also got several short courses such as leadership, community development, English skills, computer skills, teaching English as a Foreign Language from various qualified training institutions. I can speak and write English well and is proficient in operating a computer in Microsoft Office, email and internet. Since 1995 up to now I have been a part-time translator and officer with Non-Governmental Organizations including New Hope Cambodia), the Samaky Foundation Cambodia, Singapore Helm Institute of Education (SHINE), Save The Children International, NGOs Education Partnership (NEP), The Basic Education and Teacher Training Project (BETT), and Concern Worldwide. My positions range from the translator, administrative assistant, project officer, director of the study and human resource manager, and school principal. Working with those NGOs in those positions, I have involved in the followings:

  1. Provide oral interpretation in training/meeting and workshop and translations of various documents from English to Khmer and vice versa concerning agriculture, forestry, educational researches (questionnaires and focused group discussions), and teacher training manuals.
  2. Human resources Management, he helped each organization in staff recruitment and staff development, especially in planning, project design and development, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, teaching and learning activities.
  3. Activity and budget planning and management, he has developed and reviewed both activity and financial planning for each organization. As a result, he has managed at least 30,000 USD per year to support education NGOs while he was working for BETT, and Save The Children.   
  4. Under NEP, Save the Children International and BETT, he had provided funding and non-funding support to various education NGOs in multiple fields.
  5. Developing questionnaires and collecting data for assessing quality learning environments in state schools.
