Source text - English Excessive consumption of mobile phones, a decrease in their life time and, therefore, an increase in the generation of this type of
electronic scrap, is noted in recent years. Printed circuit boards (PCB's) from waste cell phones are attractive resources because of
the valuable metals Cu, Au, Ag, Pd they possess, but at the same time dangerous due to their content of heavy metals. The
treatment of these boards is desirable from an economic and environmental perspective.
In this paper, we inform the results achieved on laboratory leaching of gold contained in PCB's from cell phones. The reagents
used were ammonium thiosulfate in basic medium and thiourea in sulfuric acid solution. Prior to gold leaching, the plates were
subjected to grinding to reduce their size to less than 2 mm and to an oxidizing leaching in sulfuric acid solution to separate the
copper. The conditions studied in the leaching test were: thiosulfate molar concentration between 0.08 M and 0.12 M and
ammonium hydroxide from 0.1 M to 0.2 M, temperature of 20° C, pH = 10.5 and 15 mM of cupric ion. In thiourea leaching, gold
dissolution was studied by varying the concentration of the reagent between 20 g/l to 28 g/l. The results indicate that, under the
conditions studied, ammonium thiosulfate is a more effective reagent for the dissolution of gold than thiourea. The gold
dissolution values achieved were up 70% for thiosulfate and no greater than 40% for thiourea.
Translation - Polish W ostatnich latach z powodu nadmiernego zużycia telefonów komórkowych oraz skróceniu ich czasu życia, zaobserwowano znaczny wzrost ilości odpadów elektronicznych powstałych z tego typu urządzeń.
Płytki (Obwody drukowane) z użytych telefonów komórkowych stanowią atrakcyjne źródło dochodu z powodu zawartych
w nich cennych metali takich jak Cu, Au, Au, Pd, ale przy tym też
stanowią źródło niebezpieczeństwa, ponieważ zawarte są w nich również metale cięzkie. Z ekonomicznego i środowiskowego punktu widzenia obróbka tych płytek jest jak najbardziej pożadana.
W niniejszym dokumencie zostały przedstawione wyniki badań laboratoryjnych z procesu wymywania złota zawartego w obwodach drukowanych z użytych telefonów komórkowych.
Odczynniki jakie zastosowano to tiosiarczan amonu w roztworze
zasadowym oraz rostwór kwasu siarkowego. Przed ługowaniem złota, płytki zostały zmielone w celu zmniejszenia ich rozmaiaru do średnicy mniejszej niż 2mm oraz zostały poddane utleniającemu ługowaniu w kwasie siarkowym w celu oddzielenia miedzi.
Warunki w przeprowadzanym teście ługowania były następujące:
stężenie molowe tiosiarczanu zawarte było między 0,08M a 0,12M, a wodorotlenku amonu od 0.1M do 0,2M. temperatura wynosiła 20 C, pH=10,5, a stężenie jonu miedziowego 15mM.
W ługowaniu za pomocą tiomocznika, badano rozpuszczalność złota zmieniając stężenie reagentu w przedziale od 20g/l do 28g/l.
Wyniki wskazały, że pod badanymi warunkami, tiosiarczan amonu
jest o wiele bardziej efektywnym odczynnikiem zwiększającym rozpuszczalność złota w porównaniu z tiomocznikiem. Osiągniete wartości rozpuszczalnościzłota wynosiły odpowiednio 70% dla tiosiarczanu i nie więcej niż 40% dla tiomocznika.

Background
[0002] Fatty acid synthesis starts with the carboxylation of acetyl CoA to malonyl CoA. This irreversible reaction is the committed step in fatty acid synthesis. The synthesis of malonyl CoA is catalyzed by acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACC) (See, Brownsey, R.W. et al., "Regulation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase", Biochem Soc. Trans. (2006) 34: 223-227).
[0003] Inhibition of ACC can be effective in diminishing fatty acid synthesis. Long-chain (16 20 carbons) fatty acid acyl-CoA thioesters have been found to be potent physiological end-product inhibitors of mammalian ACC.
[0004] Certain 2-furoic acid derivatives, including those substituted with long chain alkoxides (C12_2o) are fatty acidmimetics. They can be converted intracellularly to their acyl-CoA thioesters, thus inhibiting ACC activity with a mechanism similar to long chain fatty acid acyl-CoA thioesters. See, McCune, S.A. et al., J. Description of the Related Art
[0002] Antibiotics have been effective tools in the treatment of infectious diseases during the last half-century. From the development of antibiotic therapy to the late 1980s there was almost complete control over bacterial infections in developed countries. However, in response to the pressure of antibiotic usage, multiple resistance mechanisms have become widespread and are threatening the clinical utility of anti-bacterial therapy. The increase in antibiotic resistant strains has been particularly common in major hospitals and care centers. The consequences of the increase in resistant strains include higher morbidity and mortality, longer patient hospitalization, and an increase in treatment costs.
[0003] Various bacteria have evolved (3-lactam deactivating enzymes, namely, β- lactamases, that counter the efficacy of the various [3-lactam antibiotics. [3-lactamases can be grouped into 4 classes based on their amino acid sequences, namely, Ambler classes A, B, C, and D. Enzymes in classes A, C, and D include active-site serine β-lactamases, and class B enzymes, which are encountered less frequently, are Zn-dependent. These enzymes catalyze the chemical degradation of [3-lactam antibiotics, rendering them inactive. Some β- lactamases can be transferred within and between various bacterial strains and species. The rapid spread of bacterial resistance and the evolution of multi-resistant strains severely limits β-lactam treatment options available
[0004] The increase of class D β-lactamase-expressing bacterium strains such as Acinetobacter baumannii has become an emerging multidrug-resistant threat. A. baumannii strains express A, C, and D class β-lactamases. The class D β-lactamases such as the OXA families are particularly effective at destroying carbapenem type β-lactam antibiotics, e.g., imipenem, the active carbapenems component of Merck’s Primaxin® (Montefour, K.; et al. Crit. Care Nurse 2008, 28, 15; Perez, F. et al. Expert Rev. Anti Infect. Ther. 2008, 6, 269; Bou, G.; Martinez-Beltran, J. Antimicrob. Agents Chemother. 2000, 40, 428. 2006, 50, 2280; Bou, G. et al, J. Antimicrob. Agents Chemother. 2000, 44, 1556). This has imposed a pressing threat to the effective use of drugs in that category to treat and prevent bacterial infections. Indeed the number of catalogued serine-based β-lactamases has exploded from less than ten in the 1970s to over 300 variants. These issues fostered the development of five “generations” of cephalosporins. When initially released into clinical practice, extended- spectrum cephalosporins resisted hydrolysis by the prevalent class A β-lactamases, TEM-1 and SHV-1. However, the development of resistant strains by the evolution of single amino acid substitutions in TEM-1 and SHV-1 resulted in the emergence of the extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) phenotype

Stan techniki
[0002] Antybiotyki stanowiły skuteczne narzędzie w leczeniu chorób zakaźnych w ostatnim półwieczu. Od rozwoju antybiotykoterapii do końca lat 80. istniała prawie całkowita kontrola nad zakażeniami bakteryjnymi w krajach rozwiniętych. Jednak w odpowiedzi na presję związaną ze stosowaniem antybiotyków rozpowszechniły się liczne mechanizmy oporności, które zagrażają użyteczności klinicznej terapii antybakteryjnej. Wzrost liczby szczepów opornych na antybiotyki jest szczególnie powszechny w dużych szpitalach i ośrodkach opieki. Konsekwencjami wzrostu liczby szczepów opornych są większa zachorowalność i śmiertelność, dłuższa hospitalizacja pacjentów oraz wzrost kosztów leczenia.
[0003] Różne bakterie wyewoluowały β-laktamowe enzymy dezaktywujące, a mianowicie β-laktamazy, które przeciwdziałają skuteczności różnych antybiotyków β-laktamowych. β-laktamazy można podzielić na 4 klasy w oparciu o ich sekwencje aminokwasów, a mianowicie klasy Amblera A, B, C i D. Enzymy w klasach A, C i D obejmują β-laktamazy z seryną w miejscu aktywnym i enzymy klasy B, które występują rzadziej, są zależne od Zn. Source text - Polish Dekonstrukcja jako główne narzędzie postmodernizmu jest postrzegana jako zagrożenie dla teorii stosunków międzynarodowych. Traktuje się ją jako czynność niszczącą prace głównego nurtu IR. Dopiero lektura tekstów postmodernistycznych pozwala na dokładniejsze zrozumienie całości problemu.
Autorem terminu „dekonstrukcja” jest kontrowersyjny francuski filozof Jaques Derrida. Jego przemyślenia mogą być pomocne do analizy współczesnych tekstów IR.
Podstawą pracy Derridy był tekstualizm – podejście traktujące całą rzeczywistość i język jako tekst pisany, czyli zespół wzajemnych, ciągle zmieniających się znaczeń. Derrida w swoich pracach krytykował podejście traktowania bytu jako czegoś stałego i niezmiennego. Wymiarem zmiany jest czas, co powoduje konieczność powstawania kolejnych interpretacji, dlatego właśnie czas jest tak ważnym pojęciem w jego rozważaniach.
Dla Richarda Devetaka, analizującego teksty Derridy, istotą dekonstrukcji jako metody interpretacji jest „podwójne czytanie”. Polega ono na zrozumieniu złożoności dyskursu lub instytucji społecznej oraz tego, że zawsze grozi im destabilizacja. Z kolei Samuel C. Wheeler dowodził, że dekonstrukcja atakuje nie samą tezę, ale tylko argument za tezą. Natomiast Barry Stocker twierdził, że dekonstrukcja jest procesem trzystopniowym – polega na zredukowaniu znaczenia tekstu, dokonaniu „zakładu strategicznego” (ukazaniu wyższości przypadku nad koniecznością) i dyskusji między dwoma wymiarami dekonstrukcji – afirmacją i strukturalizmem. Dla prawidłowego postępu dekonstrukcji niezbędna jest obecność obu wymiarów.
Derrida podkreśla, że dekonstrukcja może stać się postrzeganiem tego, jak człowiek wchodzi w relację z tekstem i jakie są konsekwencje tej relacji.
Istotną cechą dekonstrukcji jest dokonanie dwóch odczytów, niezależnie od tego, czy chodzi o manifestację specyfiki języka, czy świadome podejście czytelnika do tekstu. U Derridy „pierwsze czytanie” jest komentarzem pasującym do tekstu. Z kolei „drugie czytanie” musi być czymś pomiędzy powtórzeniem tekstu, a jego interpretacją.
Dla zrozumienia dekonstrukcji jako działania tekstowego niezbędne jest wprowadzenie przez Derridę pojęć iteracji, różnicy i śladu. Iteracja, polegająca na ciągłym powtarzaniu wypowiedzi, doprowadza do spadku jej znaczenia. Odnosi się ona do użycia słowa lub frazy w takim sensie, który różni się od zwykłego znaczenia poza określoną teorią. Różnica opisuje proces ruchu, proaktywności tekstu. Dotyczy sytuacji, w której dwuznaczna gra niektórych terminów stanowi ich znaczenie w tekście. Ślad z kolei jest dynamicznym procesem zarówno zachowującym przeszłość jak i projektującym przyszłość. To pojęcie, które w teorii ma właściwe znaczenie dopiero po skierowaniu (często niejawnym) do podobnych wcześniejszych pojęć z tradycji intelektualnej, w których osadzona jest teoria.
Translation - English Deconstruction as the main tool of postmodernism is seen as a threat to international relations theory. It is treated as a destructive activity of the IR mainstream. Only by reading postmodernist texts we can understand the whole problem more clearly.
The author of the term “deconstruction" is the controversial French philosopher Jaques Derrida. His reflections can be helpful in analyzing contemporary IR texts.
The basis of Derrida's work was textualism - an approach in which the whole reality and language are treated as a written text, a set of mutual, constantly changing meanings. Derrida criticized the approach of treating the being as something permanent and unchangeable. Time is a dimension of change, which makes it necessary to create new interpretations, which is why time is such an important concept in his deliberations.
For Richard Devetak, a scholar who was analyzing Derrida's texts, the essence of deconstruction as a method of interpretation is „double reading". It is about understanding the complexity of discourse or a social institution and the fact that they are always threatened with destabilization. On the other hand, Samuel C. Wheeler argued that the deconstruction does not attack the thesis itself, but only the argument that supports the thesis. Barry Stocker claimed that deconstruction is a three-step process -it consists of reducing the importance of the text, making a ”strategic establishment". (showing the superiority of the case over the necessity) and discussing between two dimensions of deconstruction - affirmation, and structuralism. In order for deconstruction to progress properly, it is necessary to have both dimensions.
Derrida emphasizes that deconstruction can become a perception of how a person enters into a relationship with the text and what are the consequences of that relation.
An important feature of deconstruction is the making of two readings, regardless of whether it is a manifestation of the specificity of the language or the reader's conscious approach to the text.
In Derrida's case, the “first reading"; is a comment that matches the text. In turn “second reading"; must be something between the repetition of a text, and its interpretation.
In order to understand deconstruction as a textual action, it is necessary for Derrida to introduce the concepts of iteration, difference, and trace. Iteration, based on the constant repetition of statements, leads to a decrease in its meaning. It refers to the use of a word or phrase in a sense that differs from a mere meaning beyond a certain theory. The difference describes the process of motion, proactivity of the text. It concerns the situation where the ambiguous play of certain terms is their meaning in the text. Trace, in turn, is a dynamic process that both preserve the past and projects the future. It is a concept which in theory has a proper meaning only after it has been (often implicitly) referred to similar earlier concepts from intellectual tradition, in which theory is embedded.
