Как разорвать индивидуальные связи между мужчинами и женщинами, чтобы переключить скованную ими энергию на всеобщую, равную и открытую приверженность к обществу, его символам и лидерам? There are no parents or children. Sex is encouraged, yet love is forbidden. In contrast to a more prevalent set of religious ethics, Biblical Communism denounced not physical, but romantic love. And in contrast to better known concepts of communism, Noyes’ doctrine opposed traditional ideas of family and families as such, rather than old economic ideals or economics in general. “Marriage […] must give place to Communism,” Noyes said. Noyes knew what he was doing when he named his doctrine Biblical Communism. His perception of socialism was that of a new economic dogma, while communism was a new sexual system.
