Source text - Spanish Análisis económico financier - © Fundación Acción contra el Hambre Introducción general Una vez conocido el desarrollo de un plan de empresa, nuestra función como técnicos asesores de proyectos empresariales pasa por un conocimiento lo mas exhaustivo posible de cada una de su partes, ya que el mismo es garantía de éxito en el proceso de asesoramiento y resolución de las múltiples dudas que le surgirán a la persona emprendedora. Con esta premisa vamos en este ciclo a dedicarnos a conocer en detalle el marketing para emprender, el plan económico financiero, los aspectos legales que marcan la creación de cualquier empresa, los aspectos fiscales que tenemos que tener presentes para orientar al emprendedor en una primera fase. Si es difícil para un emprendedor crear una empresa, creerme que este tipo de conocimiento va a exigir toda vuestra atención y estudio. Asimismo estudiaremos ciertos conocimientos básicos sobre temas muy frecuentes en el asesoramiento de proyectos como son la comunicación y promoción de la empresa recién creada, nociones sobre marcas y arrendamientos de espacios empresariales, y en definitiva aspectos muy concretos que surgirán en algún momento en el desempeño de su trabajo. Con todo ello no pretendemos formar o “crear” abogados ni economistas ni expertos agentes de propiedad industrial … simplemente transferir y consolidar un conocimiento practico que de respuesta a la persona que emprende en las numerosas fases por las que pasará en la puesta en marcha de su proyecto hasta plasmarlo en un negocio o empresa real. No podéis ni debéis ser “la gestoría” del empresario/a. No confundamos términos. Vosotros sois los asesores/as de la persona que emprendedora y ello representa que debéis tener un conocimiento general de todas las materias, lo cual implica en esta fase la entrada de elementos técnicos que tienen mayor dificultad si no se han utilizado nunca. En cualquier caso se trata por nuestra parte de hacer estos conceptos y herramientas más accesibles pero sin olvidar que vuestra función es de especialistas en asesoramiento para emprender y no en, por ejemplo, ser una asesoría fiscal. Objetivos • Conocer los aspectos particulares de cada una de las fases de un plan de negocio. • Conocer las características que debe tener un plan de marketing, un plan económico financiero de un proyecto empresarial y un plan de puesta en marcha del mismo. • Identificar las particularidades que pueden determinar una formula legal precisa para un emprendedor y orientarles en los pasos necesarios para su puesta en marcha. • Tener conocimientos necesarios para transferir conocimientos a los emprendedores sobre la importancia de la comunicación y promoción de la empresa una vez se ha creado. • Reconocer las exigencias que implicar la puesta en marcha de una idea de negocio. • Reconocer las diferencias entre signos distintivos de una empresa y orientar a una persona emprendedora sobre su utilidad inmediata. • Las personas asistentes identificarán los principales tributos que afectan a una empresa y adquirirán el conocimiento básico en torno a las características de cada impuesto y como pueden afectar al proyecto al que asesoran. En esta unidad se va a tratar uno de los aspectos más difíciles para cualquier emprendedor/a y para cualquier técnico/a asesor/a de proyectos empresariales (que no sea economista) y que en definitiva debe recoger algo tan importante como es la información de carácter económico y financiero referente al proyecto, para determinar su viabilidad económica. En definitiva se trata de “hacer números “ y analizar si el proyecto reúne las condiciones de rentabilidad, solvencia y liquidez necesarias para llevarlo a cabo. Antes de adentrarnos en esta materia, me gustaría que viesen una serie de conceptos básicos y que hacen referencia a determinados estados económicos de cualquier proyecto y que nos vendrá muy bien para fijarlos y luego desarrollarlos. El presupuesto económico es la base para la discusión de la viabilidad de un proyecto de inversión, el método para cuantificar los objetivos económico-financieros y el sistema para determinar los cauces tácticos utilizados en su consecución. Asimismo, y a posteriori, también sirve para proceder el control de los resultados alcanzados en orden a medir las divergencias ocurridas y a establecer las medidas de corrección necesarias para reorientar las actuaciones de la actividad empresarial. Para empezar vamos a ver un breve resumen de las tablas económicas y su función: ¿Qué necesitamos para poner en marcha un proyecto? Plan de inversiones: Debemos enumerar y describir todo lo necesario para empezar y cuál es su coste (compra de ordenadores, muebles, fianza del local, etc.) 1 Introducción ¿Cómo vamos a financiarlo? Tenemos que tener una idea clara de la cantidad de dinero necesario y de las posibilidades de pago que se dispone, esto lo conseguiremos con el Plan de Financiación. El Plan de inversiones y el Plan de financiación van a constituir el BALANCE INICIAL. Para poder planificar las necesidades financieras, es decir el movimiento de nuestra caja, realizaremos la PREVISIÓN DE TESORERÍA del primer año, que pondrá de manifiesto los cobros y pagos realizados por la empresa. Esta tabla nos permite informar durante el primer año de actividad, acerca de los movimientos de efectivo producidos, y con ello podemos analizar las necesidades de liquidez de la empresa. CUENTA DE RESULTADOS, nos informara del resultado de nuestro negocio durante el primer año, es decir de si la empresa ha obtenido beneficio o pérdidas como resultado de su actividad. A TENER EN CUENTA: Es necesario que se fije por el/la emprendedor/asesor el presupuesto de ventas del primer año, que es el origen de todo el proceso de planificación económica financiera, ya que reflejará los objetivos de ventas fijados en el plan de marketing y expresados en unidades vendidas y precio de venta. Según las previsiones de ventas que se realicen para los primeros años del negocio, variarán los ingresos, los gastos y será necesario dimensionar la capacidad productiva del negocio. Por eso, es importante ser prudentes en las previsiones, ya que una de las principales causas de fracaso de los emprendedores es realizar estimaciones de ventas excesivamente optimistas. Dada su notable influencia en el proceso de planificación financiera es recomendable que la previsión de ventas se realice durante el primer año de actividad mes a mes. 2.1. DEFINICIÓN Y TIPOS DE INVERSIÓN Inversión: recoge aquellos elementos (bienes y derechos) que se van a necesitar en la empresa para poder iniciar la actividad y el dinero para poder hacer frente a los pagos de los primeros meses de actividad. Para realizar este cálculo debemos de pensar en todas aquellas cosas que necesitamos tener antes de comenzar con la actividad: muebles, herramientas, máquinas, ordenadores, etc. En la inversión inicial clasificaremos lo que necesitamos para empezar, de la siguiente forma: ACTIVO NO CORRIENTE Inmovilizado Inmaterial o intangible • Gastos de constitución: Importe destinado a la creación de la empresa y a la legalización de la actividad. Incluyendo todos los gastos de notaría, registros, impuestos, licencias, gestoría, etc. • Derechos de traspaso y propiedad industrial: Importe destinado al traspaso de un local comercial, canon de entrada de una franquicia, marcas comerciales y patentes. • Aplicaciones informáticas: Importe destinado a licencias de software, a dominios de Internet, a la elaboración de aplicaciones informáticas y páginas web entre otros. 2 El plan de inversión Inmovilizado Material: bienes que necesitamos y que son tangibles. • Instalaciones: conjuntos de elementos técnicos que quedarán ligados de forma definitiva para su funcionamiento: instalaciones eléctricas, calefacción, seguridad, reformas del local. • Maquinaria: representa las máquinas que intervienen en el proceso de producción o de prestación del servicio. • Herramientas y utillaje: instrumentos necesarios para realizar la actividad, elementos móviles que intervienen en el proceso de producción o de prestación del servicio. • Mobiliario y equipos de oficina: elementos que no están vinculados al proceso de producción o de prestación del servicio: muebles, archivo, fotocopiadora, decoración. • Elementos de transporte: Importe destinado a vehículos para el trasporte de mercaderías, animales o personas. • Equipos informáticos: Importe destinado a ordenadores, impresoras y otros equipos informáticos. • Otro inmovilizado: cualquier otra inversión material que no haya sido especificada con anterioridad. Inmovilizado Financiero: • Depósitos o fianzas constituidos a largo plazo, como la fianza de un local comercial por ejemplo. Activo no corriente: • Existencias iniciales: compra de mercancías, materias primas y materiales destinados a la venta o al proceso de producción o de prestación del servicio • Administraciones públicas: deudas pendientes de cobro con la Administración, como el IVA de las inversiones. • Tesorería: importe necesario para el mantenimiento de la empresa antes de cobrar las primeras facturaciones. Para poder calcular la previsión de tesorería realizaremos el cálculo de los gastos fijos que vamos a tener y con carácter general estimaremos tener cubiertos los tres primeros meses de actividad. Es importante tener en cuenta el plazo de cobro de nuestros clientes para poder valorar este importe. 2.2. COSTES FIJOS Y COSTES VARIABLES: DEFINICIÓN Y EJEMPLOS Para poder analizar bien los datos, es necesario que conozcamos la diferencia entre coste fijo y coste variable. Costes fijos: son aquellos que tendrá la empresa de forma periódica con independencia del volumen de actividad de la misma. Costes variables: son los que van a variar en función del volumen de actividad que tengamos, cuanta más actividad tengamos, mayores serán los costes variables y a la inversa. COSTES FIJOS Suelen permanecer sensiblemente fijos para un período de tiempo y nivel de actividad al no estar afectados por el volumen de operaciones, pero esto no significa que sean permanentemente fijos, sino que llegado a ciertos niveles de actividad pueden variar. Ejemplo: el alquiler de las oficinas. La empresa tendrá que pagar todos los meses el mismo alquiler con independencia del comportamiento de sus ventas. El Plan de financiación son los fondos económicos de donde se obtienen los recursos para financiar el plan de inversiones, es decir al mismo tiempo que nos preguntamos cuánto dinero necesitamos para poner en marcha el negocio, tenemos que calcular: ¿Cuánto dinero tengo para aportar a mi negocio? ¿Cuánto dinero puedo pedir prestado? Fondos propios: fondos de los que dispone el/la emprendedor/a. Fondos ajenos: financiación que se tiene que solicitar. Como fondos propios es importante que tengamos en cuenta tanto el dinero del que disponemos en efectivo como aquellos bienes materiales que necesitamos para nuestro negocio y ya tenemos. También podremos tener en cuenta aquellas subvenciones que se hagan efectivas al comienzo de la actividad como por ejemplo la capitalización del paro. Es muy importante tener en cuenta que este dinero se necesita para poner en marcha la actividad y por lo tanto únicamente se pueden incluir aquellas subvenciones que se hagan efectivas antes de comenzar la misma. Con el resto de subvenciones o ayudas tendremos en cuenta cual es la fecha prevista de desembolso para incluirlas en la tabla de Tesorería del primer año. En relación a las formas de financiación ajena podemos tener en cuenta tanto el importe que podemos pedir a través de financiación bancaria en un préstamo como posibles adelantos de proveedores u otras formas de financiación. Es importante valorar el porcentaje de financiación propia que se aporta ya que para la solicitud de financiación bancaria es necesario que aportes en la mayoría de los casos como mínimo el 20 % de la inversión. 3 El plan de financiación Si la idea de negocio es necesaria o útil para los consumidores, tendrán parte del camino andado. Pero no hay que olvidar si se puede vender y cómo se puede hacer. With this premise, at this stage we are going to concentrate on getting to know the necessary marketing to undertake in detail, the financial and economic plan, the legal aspects that define the creation of any company, and the fiscal aspects that we have to be aware of in order to guide the entrepreneur in the first phase. If it is difficult for an entrepreneur starting a business, believe me that taking on board this kind of knowledge is going to require your full attention and study. In addition we will be studying some basic knowledge about subjects that come up very frequently when advising on projects such as the publicising and promotion of the newly established company, notions about brands and the lease of business spaces, and ultimately very specific aspects that will arise at some point when carrying out its work. With all this we don't aim to train or "create" lawyers or economists nor expert industrial property agents … but simply to transfer and consolidate practical knowledge, which gives an answer to the person who is going to engage in the many stages that the setting up of their project will require, until its transformation into a real business or company. You cannot or should not be the entrepreneur's "private agency". Let us not confuse terms. You are the advisers of the person who is the entrepreneur and this means that you must have general knowledge of all matters, in this phase the latter implies the introduction of very difficult technical elements if they have never been used before. In any case it is down to us to make these concepts and tools more accessible but without forgetting that our role is to undertake specialist start up advice and not, for example, to give tax advice. Objectives • To know the particular aspects of each of the phases of a business plan. • To identify the features that a marketing plan should have, an economic-financial plan for a business project and an implementation plan for the latter. • To identify the characteristics that can determine a precise legal formula for an entrepreneur and to guide them along the necessary steps to its implementation. • To have the skills needed to transfer knowledge to entrepreneurs on the importance of publicising and promoting their company once it has been created. • To recognize the demands that the implementation of a business idea involves. • To recognize the differences between the distinctive signs in a company and to provide guidance to an entrepreneur on their immediate utility. • The participants will identify the principal taxes that affect a company and they will acquire basic knowledge about the features of each tax and how they can affect the project which they are giving advice about. This unit is about one of the most difficult things to deal with for any entrepreneur or any technician/business project adviser (who is not an economist) and who must eventually get to grips with something as important as the economic and financial information concerning the project - to determine its economic viability. In short, this means "looking at the figures" and analysing if the project meets the conditions of profitability, solvency and liquidity necessary for it to be carried out. Before we delve into this matter, I would like to look over a series of basic concepts which refer to certain economic states of any project and it will serve us well to fix and then develop them. The budget is the basis for the discussion about the feasibility of an investment project, the method for quantifying the economic-financial objectives and the system to determine the tactical channels used in their achievement. Also, and a posteriori, it also serves as a checking mechanism of the achieved results in order to measure the differences that occurred and to establish the necessary remedial measures to reorientate the business proceedings. To start we are going to look at a brief summary of the tables and their economic function: What do we need to start up a project? Investment Plan: We should list and describe everything that is necessary to start up with including the cost (purchase of computers, furniture, the deposit for the premises, etc.) 1 Introduction How are we going to finance it? We must have a clear idea of the amount of money required and the payment options that are available, this will be achieved with the Financing Plan. The investment plan and a financing plan constitute the STARTING BALANCE. Given its notable influence in the financial planning process it’s advisable that the sales forecast be carried out monthly during the first year of economic activity. 2.1. DEFINITION AND TYPES OF INVESTMENT Investment: it covers those elements (property and rights) which are going to be needed by the business so that the activity can start and there is money available to cope with payments for the first few months of activity. To perform this calculation we need to think about all the things we need to have before starting a business: furniture, tools, machines, computers, etc. In the initial investment we will classify what we need to start, as follows: NON-CURRENT ASSETS Non-fixed or Intangible Assets • Costs of establishment: Amount allocated to the creation of the company and the legalization of the activity. Including all the expenses of the notary, records, taxes, licensing, agency, etc. • Transfer of rights and industrial property: Amount allocated for the transfer of a local mall, entry fee for a franchise, trademarks and patents. • Computer Programmes/Applications: Amount allocated for software licenses, for Internet domains, for the development of computer programmes/applications and web pages amongst other things. 2 The investment plan Fixed Assets: assets that we need and that are tangible. • Facilities: sets of technical elements which will be linked in a definitive way for their operation: electrical installations, heating, security, refurbishments in the premises. • Machinery: meaning the machines involved in the production process or those providing the service. • Tools and tooling: instruments needed to carry out the activity, the moving parts involved in the production process or in providing the service. • Furniture and office equipment: items which are not linked to the production process or providing the service: furniture, files, photocopiers, decoration. • Transport Elements: Amount allocated for vehicles for the transportation of goods, animals or people. • Computers: Amount allocated for computers, printers and other computer equipment. • Other fixed assets: any other investment material that has not been specified in advance. Financial Assets: • Long-term deposits or securities, such as the premises' deposit for example. Non-current assets: • Initial stocks: purchase of goods, raw materials and materials intended for sale or for the production process or for providing the service • Public administrations: outstanding debts with the Administration, such as the VAT on investments. • Treasury: the amount necessary for the company's maintenance before collecting the first invoices. In order to calculate the cash-flow forecast we calculate the fixed costs that we are going to have and in general, we estimate that the first three months activity will be covered. It is important to bear in mind our clients' payment deadline in order to assess this amount. 2.2. FIXED COSTS AND VARIABLE COSTS: DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES In order to analyse the data, it is necessary to know the difference between the fixed costs and variable costs. Fixed costs: these are the ones which the company will have on a regular basis regardless of the volume of activity of the same. Variable Costs: these are the ones which are going to vary depending on the volume of activity that we have, the more we have, the greater the variable costs will be and vice versa. FIXED COSTS They usually remain fixed at a reasonable level for a period of time and level of activity on not being affected by the volume of operations, but that does not mean that they are permanently fixed, rather that if they reach certain levels of activity they may vary. THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES IN CHOOSING FIXED OR VARIABLE COSTS • Fixed Costs: the cost does not vary, so if the company increases its activity the cost is the same and the company benefits from economies of scale (the unit cost per product goes down). However, the company will incur this cost even if its activity has reduced and this can become a burden for the company. • Variable Costs: their advantage is that they vary depending on the level of activity, because if the activity reduces the cost is also reduced, which means the company does not make a loss. However, if the activity also increases the cost increases, which means the company does not benefit from economies of scale. Source text - Spanish Como cada día antes de levantarse, como cada mañana de aquellos últimos 11 años, 3 meses y 7 días, Mikel cogió la foto en blanco y negro que estaba encima de la mesilla, se incorporó ligeramente y la observó con detenimiento. Pasó el dedo sobre la sonrisa tímida de Ainhoa, acarició su mejilla sobre el cristal, y luego sus ojos negros y profundos que miraban directamente a la cámara. Así era ella, profunda y directa. Sincera, como su mirada. Justo detrás, en un segundo plano, Mikel encontró su propia sonrisa, bobalicona e ilusionada, su brazo rodeándola con cariño y una mano sobre el vientre que albergaba aquel niño que nunca nació. Recordaba perfectamente el momento de la foto, realizada por él mismo con el temporizador en su pequeño piso de Bilbao, apenas unas horas después de conocer que la criatura que esperaban sería una niña. - Se llamará Pilar, como tu madre, como siempre quisiste. - Ya veremos -respondía ella, siempre más prudente.- Aún queda mucho, pueden pasar muchas cosas. Y tampoco pensaba avisar. “Pueden pasar muchas cosas”, repetía de nuevo en su cabeza las palabras de Ainhoa. ¿Qué te podía pasar cuando eres joven, con trabajo, con salud, y tienes a tu lado una mujer maravillosa? Y ahora la noticia de la niña, ¿qué podía pasar? Hay personas cuya vida recorre una senda sin sobresaltos, y hay otras cuya trayectoria se tuerce en un momento dado y se encamina al precipicio. O más bien, su metáfora era la del tren que avanza firme e inexorable, sin percibir que unos metros más adelante no tiene vías por las que seguir. Entre las secuelas que le dejó la explosión de aquella moto bomba que se llevó por delante a Ainhoa y a esa Pilar que nunca tuvo la oportunidad de sonreír, le había quedado una leve cojera y un zumbido insistente en el cerebro. Un pitido incómodo que no cesaba ni cuando intentaba dormir, un zumbido que le recordaba a cada segundo que su vida descarriló más de once años atrás. Pero tenía que considerarse afortunado, como le habían dicho sus familiares y amigos. Se levantó con determinación y leyó de nuevo la noticia del periódico que había dejado el día anterior a los pies de la cama. Contempló la foto. Una sonrisa siniestra, unos abrazos ofensivos. El júbilo que mostraban los cientos de personas concentradas en el frontón del barrio se apagó cuando Mikel avanzó con paso firme entre ellas en dirección al estrado. Llevaba un cartel en alto con una foto de Ainhoa bajo el rótulo: “¿Dónde está mi vida?”. Nadie se atrevió a cortarle el paso. Se plantó frente al atril improvisado desde el que un hombre anciano dirigía sus encendidas proclamas. Calló al verle. A sus espaldas, sobre la pared del frontón, las fotos de varios de aquellos “luchadores por la patria” que aún estaban en prisión, y una enorme pancarta en la que podía leerse: “Ongi etorri, Jon”. Bienvenido, Jon. Mikel le miró fijamente a los ojos con el cartel bien alto. Un segundo, diez, no sabría decir. Tampoco sabría decir qué fue primero, si el tremendo empujón que sintió en la espalda y que le tiró al suelo, o el grito de “¡Torturador!” proferido por el gigantón que se abalanzó sobre él. Luego el tumulto, la turba desbocada. Comenzó a sentir patadas en las costillas, puñetazos en la espalda, en la cabeza, por todos lados. Se encogió para minorar el efecto de tantos golpes a la vez, de todos los que le rodeaban, mientras apenas alcanzaba a oír: “Asesino, torturador, hijo de puta”. Apenas unas horas antes, Mikel había elegido la ropa con cuidado. No es que le importara su aspecto al ser consciente de que su vida y su sufrimiento iban a terminar ese día, sino que la elección estaba condicionada por la carga explosiva que debía disimular alrededor de la cintura. What could happen to you when you are young, in work, healthy, and you have a wonderful woman at your side ? And now the news of the girl, what could happen? There are people whose lives run along smoothly, and there are others whose lives don't but are rerouted at a given time and are pushed towards the edge. Or rather, his metaphor was the train that is moving steadily and inexorable forward, without seeing that a few metres ahead there are no tracks to follow. Among the effects of the motorbike bomb explosion, which had swept away Ainhoa and Pilar who had never had the chance to smile, was to leave him with a slight limp and an insistent buzzing in his head. An uncomfortable beep that didn't even slacken when he was trying to sleep, a buzzing sound that every second reminded him that his life had been derailed more than eleven years ago. Behind him, on the wall of the frontón court were photos of several of those "fighters for the fatherland" who were still in prison, and a huge banner that read: ": “Ongi etorri, Jon”. Welcome, Jon. Mikel stared striaght into his eyes with his poster held high. One second, ten, he didn't really know what to say. Nor could he say what came first, if it was the tremendous push he felt on his back that threw him to the floor, or the cry of "Torturer!" that came from the big bloke who pounced on him. Then the crowd, went mad. He began to feel the kicking his ribs were getting, also the blows to his back, to his head, all over. He curled up to lessen the effect of so many blows at the same time, from everyone around him, while only just able to hear: "Murderer, torturer, son of a bitch". Only a few hours before Mikel had carefully chosen his clothes. It's not so much that he was bothered by what he looked like as he was aware that his life and suffering were going to finish that day, but that his choice of clothes was constrained by the explosive charge that he had to hide around his waist. When he felt that the greatest number of people were beating and insulting him, Mikel knew it was time to press the detonator and forever silence that incessant buzzing.

Hello all,

My name is Nick Harding and welcome to my page. I can assure you that I will always strive to do the best translation I can, because if you like what you do, you will always try your hardest. This can only be good for the client, don't you think?

In the past I have translated a wide range of topics, especially those dealing with colloquial English from England, medical texts and texts about government and politics. More recently, however, I have become particularly strong in the field of banking and finance. Therefore, I would now welcome any translations in that area.

Also, as I am very keen to develop my business as a translator, I will always try to adjust my prices to suit.
