We met at the BBC Bush House club on the Strand. The club is located in the basement, so although we couldn't enjoy the afternoon sun, there was a bar, a giant aquarium and several bowls of chips for mental stimulation courtesy of Fouad Razek. The event started off with some informal networking, before Peter Linton gave a brief presentation on handling PDF files, followed by a lively discussion and contributions from the group. He also printed out some useful handout for everyone to take home. After the presentation a small group of us stayed on and carried on talking over a few drinks.
(a) I join in the thanks to those who enabled this PowWow.
(b) I've not forgotten that at least one of you wants to know how I use graphics select on the screen to get text from a PDF image into an old OCR program that can't convert PDFs itself. Haven't the time today: hope to do it tomorrow (Mon).
