English term or phrase: pallet talks and monitors

Dear colleagues,

Az alábbi szöveget feltettem általános angol kérdésként is, de mivel magyarra kell fordítanom, és talán itt is érti valaki, megismétlem a kérdést itt is, ahogyan ott elhangzott.

The general context is very hazy, but they talk about communication within sites of the company. Even then, I don't know what they are talking about here. I need your help first of all in understanding this phrase in the following sentence,
" ... confirmed that there were many communication channels available, including pallet talks and monitors set up in some sites to provide employees with access to intranet, however, use of the latter had proved very disappointing."

Is it about means of projecting the info on site, like 'monitors' suggest? Intranet is usually not about on-site communication, and a bit earlier they talked about some employees not having proper e-mail addresses. I find very scant references to what "pallet talks" could mean, but I don't understand the phrase, especially because it is not explained, rather used as general notions in the title of pages. Any light would be highly appreciated.

Két elképzelésem van:
1. a „pallet” raklapot jelent, amelyre egy üzemi területen valahogy ki van helyezve egy billentyűzet (egy egér, touchpad) és egy monitor (vagy érintőképernyő), és ezen lehet intranetezni (a „talk and monitor” jelenthet kommunikációs készüléket)*;
2. a „pallet talk” így egyben valamiféle billentyűzet, érintőképernyő vagy touchpad speciális neve vagy félrefordítása egy ázsiai nyelvből, míg a „monitor” az egy képeenyő.

Az mindenesetre a szövegkörnyezetből valószínű, hogy a fenti fordítás (némi csúsztatással) lefedi a jelentést.
