Is there any way to convert a Wordfast memory for use in Trados?
Any help greatly appreciated.

I don't really know Wordfast but...

If Wordfast\'s output is quite orderly and can be split into two parts (by search and replacing codes etc.), so that you have source text on one side and the target text on the other, than you can surely align the text with Winalign. Or you can simply add Trados codes to the bilingual output. Trados\'s syntax is quite straighforward. I have done that many times in order to import funny formats (databases etc.) into Trados.

From Wordfast manual:

For example, to re-use a Wordfast TM with TWB:
1. In Wordfast, click the Export button to create a TMX export of your current TM.
2. In TWB, create a new TM, with the correct languages. Use TWB\'s File/Import menu to import the TMX file into the newly created TM.
Hope this helps

it makes sense

It makes sense that the importing into Trados would be easier than what my reply suggested.
Emilia, since you obviosuly are a Wordfast user, I would like to ask you a couple of things:
- do you find Wordfast works well?
- any problems with it?
- is the communication with Trados actually straightforward all the time?
Thanks in advance for giving your opinion.
