These language pairs need to determine which entries move to finals. Rate entries in these language pairs according to the "quality of writing" and "accuracy of translation":
You might note that entry tagging is not enabled for this contest. Only voting and rating are.
Finally, you might also want to check the other contest "Ploughing mountainsides" and translate this lovely piece of poetry. You can make your entry here.
Some participants reported that they found entry tagging distracting, so the decision was made to experiment with focusing more narrowly on rating and voting this time around.
Kind regards, Julieta

Well, I was unable to write *any* comments on the translations. All I could do was vote. All three the entries in my language had problems, but I could not see anyway to discuss the translations with other lurkers. So, I voted "#1" for the least destitute entry, that was all I could do.

I wanted to vote, but I am a bit confused. In the first two drawings it looks like the women is speaking. In the third panel the man in the left front corner seems to be screaming something. Who is saying what?

The clue is the woman waving her arm -- she is the speaker in all three frames.
The two men both react to her screaming in the third pane. The man sitting next to her (who was not looking at her and thus did not have advance visual warning that she is about to scream) has a fright reaction, while the man facing her reacts with an "ooh" on his lips.
Alternatively, you'll notice that the man sitting next to her is already responding to something in the second frame. He's looking at the fire with horror. He realises that the woman must be an alien because she's sitting with her legs in the fire and yet the only thing she seems to be concerned about is Gurgle.

Haha, that's funny!
