The page http://www.proz.com/translation-contests/ contains an item "ProZ.com Translation Contests. Patent pending." Could you explain what the patent consists in, please?

Of course everything depends on what exactly has been applied for in the patent application, and although I am not very well acquainted with other patent systems, I can tell you that - if reference is made to the contest itself - the "patent pending" is worthless within the framework of the European Patent Convention, suffice it to read Art. 52 of the Convention with regard to patentable subject matter.
